Most of the time, the body begins storing tummy fat in as little as two hours after you eat anything high in sugar, saturated fat and salt. So below are some recipe ideas to get incorporate into your every day diet.
Good morning Green Juice
Green juice takes little energy to digest and is the best thing to have every morning to cleanse your system.
Your blood stream can easily absorb all of the vitamins and minerals and that means your skin will absolutely glow.
3 cups kale
½ cup chopped celery
1 small green apple
Morning Quinoa Bircher
2/3 cup quinoa flakes
1 cup almond milk
1 tsp. lemon juice
2 tbsp. chia seeds
2 tsp. chopped pistachio kernels, to garnish
1 cup strawberries
1 cup raspberries
Pinch of ground ginger
Pinch of ground cinnamon
Pinch of ground cardamom
Zest of 1/2 orange, finally grated
Pinch of sea salt
How to make it:
Mix all ingredients for the Bircher together in a bowl (except the pistachios) and leave it in the fridge overnight.
In the morning, wash and halve the berries. Using a fork, smash the berries together in a large bowl with the spices, orange zest and salt.
Spoon the muddled berries into the muesli and sprinkle the pistachios on top.
Easy Veggie / Brown Rice Bowl
½ sliced avocado
3 cups spinach
½ cup cooked brown rice
How to make it
Sautee the mushroom and spinach in coconut oil
Combine mushroom, spinach and sliced avocado with brown rice in a bowl and enjoy!
Blueberry Oats with Chia Seeds
¼ cup oats
3 tablespoon Chia Seeds
Quinoa and Tabouleh Salad (Makes 4 servings)
2 bunch parsley
1 punnet cherry tomatoes
½ cup mint leaves
1 cup cooked quinoa
How to make it
Finely chop parsley, shallot and mint leaves
Chop cherry tomatoes
Combine all ingredients in a bowl with cooked quinoa
Add lemon juice and toss all ingredients together
(Served with baked salmon or chicken)
